Michael C. Ferrara, Chief Executive Officer

Michael Ferrara was previously Chief Executive Officer and President of X-Rite Incorporated. Prior to X-Rite, Mr. Ferrara was CEO of Marine Optical Group, CEO of N.I. World Trade, a trading subsidiary of National Intergroup (formerly National Steel) and held positions of increasing seniority over an 18-year period at Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Mr. Ferrara has a B.S in electrical engineering from Villanova University and completed the Program for Management Development (PMD) at Harvard Business School.

William J. Conroy – Vice President Operations and Engineering

Mr. Conroy brings more than twenty-five years of high-tech product management, quality control and operations experience to MFIC. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Production and Operations at RemoteReality Corporation, which designs and manufactures products for the military/defense and security business sectors. Mr. Conroy has also held senior level operations, manufacturing and quality control positions at Northrop Grumman (formerly Fibersense Technology Corporation), Karl Storz Endovision, Circon ACMI and Kohler Company.  

Thomai (Mimi) Panagiotou, PhD – Chief Technology Officer 

As the CTO of Microfluidics, Dr. Panagiotou has responsibility for the overall direction of Microfluidics’ technology and leads the development of Microfluidics Reaction Technology (MRT), an award-winning process intensification technology to manufacture nanosuspensions “bottom up”. Prior to Microfluidics, Dr. Panagiotou was a Manager at Arthur D. Little and a Principal Scientist at Physical Sciences. In her previous positions, Dr. Panagiotou was involved in the development of  drug eluting polymer coatings for stents, insulin inhalation devices and spectroscopy based sensors. Dr. Panagiotou holds a MS and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. She co-authored over 60 papers for journals and conference proceedings and is a co-inventor of two patents.

Peter Byczko - Vice President Finance and Chief Accounting Officer

Mr. Byczko was mostly recently the Director of Financial Operations and Development at Open Solutions, a leading provider of integrated computer systems and software for financial institutions around the world. Prior to Open Solutions, Mr. Byczko was a Senior Project Manager for Control Solutions International, a global provider of internal audit and risk management solutions, where he led a number of high-profile client engagements including CA, Hewlett-Packard and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Mr. Byczko has also served in senior management positions in the areas of financial reporting, acquisitions and treasury and practiced as a Certified Public Accountant with various national and regional accounting firms from 1989 to 1995. Mr. Byczko holds a B.S. in accounting and finance from Nichols College.
